Montana: Livestock Forum, Nutrition Conference is April 12-13 in Bozeman

BOZEMAN – Observations of a traveling veterinarian, the economy’s impact on agriculture, and feedlot needs are among the topics to be discussed during the annual Montana Livestock Forum, Nutrition Conference to be held April 12-13 at the GranTree Inn in Bozeman, MT.

The conference, titled “The Changing Climate of the Livestock Industry,” will also look at proposed Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration (GIPSA) rules, the growing and feeding of cereal forages, neonatal calf research, and the use of technology to enhance the beef industry.

Featured speaker Tom Nakano, executive vice president and chief financial officer of Northwest Farm Credit Services, will discuss the current and future status of the economy and the impact to agriculture. Other speakers will include the president of the National Cattleman’s Beef Association and experts from Pfizer, Animal Profiling International and Montana State University. The conference is organized by Rachel Endecott and others in MSU’s Department of Animal and Range Science.
