Montana Stockgrowers Association announces Follow the Cattle Tour
HELENA, MT – The Montana Stockgrowers Association (MSGA) announced July 14 this year’s Follow the Cattle Tour to be held August 20-23. The tour is meant to educate Montana cattle producers and other interested parties about off-ranch aspects of the cattle industry. This year the tour’s focus is on alternative feeds.
The bus will leave from Billings, MT and stop at the Anheuser-Busch Brewery in Fort Collins, CO; JBS Swift & Company in Greeley, CO; 5 Rivers Cattle Feeding, LLC in La Salle, CO; Kaapa Ethanol, LLC in Minden, NE; Hruska U.S. Meat Animal Research Center in Clay Center, NE; T & E Cattle Company in Grand Island, NE; and Dinklage Feedyard in Proctor, CO.
The cost for the tour is only $100, which includes travel, meals and lodging for the entire trip, thanks to funding from the Montana Beef Council and the Montana Department of Agriculture’s “Growth Through Ag” program.
