Moodie Implement acquires Belgrade Equipment, Strong & Bradley from Klaas Kloosterhof
Moodie Implement Company, based in Lewistown, MT, has acquired two additional John Deere dealerships this month.
The company purchased Belgrade Equipment and Strong & Bradley of Livingston on Sept. 2 from Klaas Kloosterhof according to information provided by Jim Moodie.
Moodie said Mack Dittman would continue to manage Belgrade Equipment in Gallatin County and Matt Strong would continue to manage Strong & Bradley in nearby Park County.
He said both John Deere dealership would be managed in the same successful way they have been operated for years. Both business locations are now being run under the Moodie Implement Company name.
“We have great group of customers to work with and a great group of employees so you can’t miss,” Moodie said. “We just want to meet the farmers and ranchers in the area and meet their equipment needs while maintaining the high level of service they have come to expect here.”
In addition to the Lewistown headquarters facility, Moodie Implement has dealerships in Havre, Chester and Great Falls.
The company provides shop and field services at all locations. The company was started in Minnesota in 1932 and moved to Lewistown in 1966. They purchased the Havre dealership in 1999 and purchased the Great Falls location in 2007.
Moodie said they now have a total of 94 employees in the six Montana locations. There are 14 employees in Belgrade and 10 in Livingston.
In addition to farm and ranch agricultural equipment, the full-line businesses sells small acreage implements and lawn and garden products for small acreage owners.
Moodie said the sales, service and parts departments are going to be operated without any changes. One change will be that Livingston won’t carry Bobcat products and the Belgrade location won’t sell Ariens products.
Moodie said he is coming to the two new locations every other week to meet new customers and to work on sales and marketing with the staff.
