Mt. Rushmore Angus 45th Annual Production Sale

Mt. Rushmore Angus held their 45th Annual Production sale March 26 at the ranch. Owned by brothers Eddie and Marty Rypkema, they are the first to recognize their hired men in their success. In Eddie’s opening comment at the sale, he shared how his dad, Milo, plowed a path and he and his brothers are able to move it forward with the help hired men: herdsman David Uhrig, Justin Uhrig and Shane Lyon. “They eat, sleep and live for the Angus breed,” Eddie said.

Despite a wintery, stormy, spring day, there was still a packed house for the sale. People from numerous states braved the elements to make purchases of these bulls that I decribe as “peas in a pod.”

Bulls on display in individual pens were the most even set of bulls from top to bottom that I have seen. The extreme culling of the Mt. Rushmore Angus program has resulted in an outstanding set of bulls with great muscle, maternal strength, easy fleshing and great dispositions. These bulls work in purebred breeding programs, as well as for commercial operations.

The Rypkema’s thanked their many repeat buyers for the years of trust and loyalty in their program. When cattlemen and women see benefits of these bulls in their own program, they are not shy about telling others how they got there – Mt. Rushmore Angus bulls help customers reach their goals day in and day out.
