National Western Stock Show addresses news report
January 29, 2015
The National Western Stock Show & Rodeo addresses the recent news story about an illegal sex trafficking operation that targeted the annual, national event. Stock Show representatives were not notified in advance that the FBI and local law enforcement would be conducting a sting operation to catch the people that prey on city-wide events (Super Bowl, Olympics, World Series) that attract large numbers of attendees.
Reports from the FBI and local law enforcement state none of the conduct or arrests that are being reported took place at or on the National Western Stock Show grounds. The FBI sting was in conjunction with the January Stock Show but the sting was not conducted at the Stock Show. "We appreciate law enforcement focusing on major events like ours to protect our staff, guests and visitors of Denver so that arrests are made to eliminate these horrific trafficking rings," said Paul Andrews, President & CEO of the National Western Stock Show.
