ND: Crop, hay insurance presentation is Dec. 16

Crop insurance presentation scheduled

BISMARCK – The North Dakota Department of Agriculture (NDDA) will host a free webinar on Whole-Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Dec. 16.

“The introduction of Whole-Farm Revenue Protection to our state can help streamline the process of insuring diversified farmers and ranchers,” said Agriculture Commissioner Doug Goehring. “WFRP can, in most cases, offer protection over the entire farm by providing coverage on net income.”

John Lockie of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Risk Management Agency will give the presentation and answer questions. His presentation will cover how WFRP can be used to enhance existing coverage, how it works with Multi-Peril Crop Insurance (MPCI), and the type of records, data and information required for coverage.

Goehring added that the information presented will be most beneficial for insurance agents, giving them the resources to effectively write these policies, but everyone is welcome to participate.
