Nebraska: Bonus Ranching Seminar Dec. 17
A Bonus Ranching Seminar will be held on Friday, Dec. 17, 2010, at the State 4H Camp, Halsey, NE.
The program begins at 8:30 a.m., and runs approximately until 4 p.m. The $20 pre-registration ($25 at-the-door) fee coves lunch and materials.
Morning speakers include: Scott Cotton, UNL Extension discussing “Trends in Rural Nebraska;” rancher Jim Lees, “Ranchers Working Together to Develop Added Value Enterprises;” Mike Kesselring, “Can I Start a Second Enterprise With My Wife and Still Live With Her?” and Karen Kollars, DED Agro-Tourism Consultant, “Agro-Tourism in Nebraska.”
Lunch will be served at 11:45 a.m. Afternoon speakers include: Twila Witt, Nebraska DED Scenic Byways Consultant, “Listing Your Project in Nebraska Magazine and the Byways Web site;” Mitch Glidden, Glidden Canoe Rentals, “Working Tourism Around Ranching;” Kirk Nelson, Nebraska Game & Parks, “Opportunities for Hunting Cooperation;” and Jenny Nixon, UNL Extension “Getting Your Project on the Web.”
This program is a partnership effort between: Nebraska Department of Economic Development; UNL Extension; Sandhills Journey Scenic Byway; Nebraska High Country Partners; and Sandhills Resource and Conservation District.
