Nebraska: ICON hosts several area meetings starting Jan. 10
The Independent Cattlemen of Nebraska (ICON) is hosting four upcoming meetings, discussing several new issues, as well as updating our work on issues in 2010. Please join us for this series of informational meetings to be held at the following locations:
• Jan. 10, 2011 – Martin Livestock, Martin, SD (start right after sale)
• Jan. 11, 2011 – Gordon Livestock, Gordon, NE (start right after sale)
• Jan. 13, 2011 – Valentine Livestock, Valentine, NE (start right after sale)
• Jan. 20, 2011 – Winters Building, Hyannis, NE, 7 p.m.
Topics to be discussed include: Beef Checkoff activities (Nebraska Beef Council, Cattlemen’s Beef Board); the proposed GIPSA Rule; animal identification; the Humane Society activities; and State Brand Inspection proposal.
ICON encourages everyone to attend. Meetings are open to the public, not just to ICON members.
Many livestock producers are utilizing stockpiled pasture, hay regrowth and warm- or cool-season annuals to extend the grazing season this fall.
