NILE invites all to attend annual Stock Show opening weekend

BILLINGS, MT – The 42nd Annual Northern International Livestock Exposition (NILE) Stock Show, ProRodeo and Western Expo invites the public to attend opening weekend this Saturday and Sunday, October 10-11, 2009. Three main events will occur during the opening weekend; the “Ride the Journey Tour” Chris Cox Clinic, Northern Range Ranch Roping Series Finals, and the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals.

Horse clinician Chris Cox’s two-day clinic, part of his “Ride the Journey Tour”, will be held October 10 and 11 and is being presented by Montana Peterbilt and Helena Trailer Sales. As part of the clinic, Cox will work with the NILE raffle horse during portions of his clinic. This year’s horse, donated by Chad and Erin Fink of Hysham, Montana, is a two-year-old sorrel. Weekend passes for the clinic are currently on sale and all full price weekend passes purchased before October 10 will receive an additional free weekend pass.

The two-day Northern Range Ranch Roping Series (NRRRS) Finals will be held in the “Buckaroo Businesses Arena” of the Super Barn and is free to the public. The goal of the NRRRS is to promote a form of roping that encourages low stress roping with proper horsemanship and stockmanship, employing a variety of functional and, sometimes, fancy loops. For more information about the Northern Range Ranch Roping Series visit http://www.ranchroping.com.

Finally, Saturday night the NILE Ranch Rodeo Finals will entertain the crowds. This one of a kind rodeo, sponsored by Western Ag Reporter features working ranch activities including bronc riding, team penning, team branding, team doctoring, and wild cow milking. In addition, the participants for the rodeo will represent ranches from around the state who have won local ranch rodeos over the past season.
