North Dakota all breeds cattle tour features McKenzie and Williams counties
The 24th annual All Breeds Cattle Tour, organized by the North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) is headed northwest on Tuesday, Oct. 5, starting in McKenzie County (ND) and traveling north into Williams County.
“It’s appropriate the tour headquarters out of Watford City,” said tour chairman Pete Best of Watford City, “since the first organizational meeting of the NDSA was held here 81 years ago.” Tour attendees will register and board the bus at the Long X Trading Post Visitor Center and Museum in Watford City, ND, then return to the museum for lunch.
Tour registration and coffee begins at 7 a.m. (CST) at the Long X Trading Post. The bus will depart at 7:45 a.m.
Featured programs included on the tour are: Washburn Angus, Chris and Marcia Washburn of Charlson; Nelson Angus, Larry and Myrna Nelson of Watford City; Best Angus, Pete and Vawnita Best of Watford City; Badlands Red Angus, Bill and Sharon Ceynar and Seth and Laci Cargo of Arnegard; DK Red Angus & Charolais, Scott and Connie Kueffler of Grenora; LBS Angus, Butch and Lila Sorenson of Fortuna; Ledahl Tarentaise, Brian and Tami Ledahl of Zahl; and Sorenson Ranch, Loren and Lorilee Sorenson of Grenora.
Tour attendees will enjoy a social and supper at Vic’s 29 Club before returning to Watford City. Registration, bus transportation, lunch and refreshments are free. There will be a slight cost for supper. Because of the oil field activity in the area, rooms are scarce and tour attendees should book their rooms as soon as possible.
To help with meal counts and bus reservations, please pre-register by calling the NDSA office at 701-223-2522 or e-mailing email@example.com. A tour map, detailed schedule and directions will be posted on the NDSA’s Web site, http://www.ndstockmen.org.
