North Dakota brand renewal deadline is Dec. 31
BISMARCK, ND – The North Dakota Stockmen’s Association (NDSA) encourages all North Dakota brandowners to utilize the Thanksgiving holiday to complete and return their brand renewal forms. “With the Thanksgiving holiday soon approaching, and many families gathering together to celebrate, brandowners have a unique opportunity to get the signatures needed on the brand renewal form, and then return the form to the NDSA prior to the Dec. 31 deadline,” said NDSA Brand Recorder Keely Spilde. “It is imperative that the brand renewals are received by the deadline to ensure that the brand is listed in the 2011 North Dakota Brand Record, which will be printed in early February,” she said.
North Dakota requires brands to be renewed every five years and, by law, brands will expire Dec. 31, 2010.
Currently, more than 22,000 brands are registered in North Dakota. Thus far, approximately 48 percent of those brands have been renewed.
Brand owners should have received a blue renewal form in the mail sometime in mid-August; however, if you have not received a brand renewal application, contact Spilde at 701-223-2522.
