Paul Klamm: 1954-2015

Paul John Klamm, 60, was born March 10, 1954, to John and Beth (Lorraine) Klamm, in Watford City, N.D. He attended Johnson Corners Public School through 4th grade and completed the rest of his schooling at Watford City High School, graduating in 1972. Paul participated in cross country, basketball and track.

He attended college for 3 years at Bethany Nazarene in Oklahoma. He then returned to North Dakota and in 1976 he took over the family farm. He continued ranching until 2014, when he semi-retired, spending winters in Arizona.

Paul married Connie Johnson Oct. 12, 1979, in Timber Lake, SD at the Unitied Parish Church. They had three children, John (JP), Travis and Mandy.

Paul was a member of Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church. He served on several boards: Johnson Corners Wesleyan Church, Johnson Corners Christian Academy, McKenzie County Farm Bureau, and McKenzie County Hospital.

Paul loved a challenge. He loved raising cattle and haying. His favorite thing was to look over a field full of hay bales or cattle.

He lived life to the fullest. Whatever he did he did it 100 percent, whether it was sports, work or playing games. He never looked back and always was optimistic. When his wife would get concerned or worried he would always say, "It'll be fine!"

He was a good mentor. He trained many teenagers how to be good hired men. His own children would credit their dad for teaching them good work ethics and for their success at other jobs.

Paul was a kind, caring and humble man. He loved spending time with family and friends. He especially loved his grandkids. He enjoyed taking his oldest grandson along when feeding the cattle. He lived by example and will be greatly missed.

Paul died on Thursday, January 15, 2015 in Chandler, AZ.

Paul is survived by his wife, Connie, of 35 years; two sons, John (fiancée Danielle (Nellie) Baye) Klamm, Travis (Danielle) Klamm; one daughter, Mandy (Shaun) Rink; six grandchildren, Makayla, John, and Levi Klamm; Jacob, Brianna, and Aria Rink. His 92 yr. old mother, Beth (Lorraine) Klamm; one sister, Resa (Robert) Hanneman; several brothers and sister-in-laws; nieces and nephews; and lifetime friends, Mark and Janice Koeser.
