Officials seeking feedback on S. Dakota’s Revised Turkey Management Plan
The South Dakota Game, Fish and Parks (GFP) has updated the turkey management plan and is currently seeking comments through April 18, 2016.
“The South Dakota wild turkey management plan is a draft plan on how the state proposes to manage wild turkeys and their habitats across the state’s diverse landscape,” stated Chad Switzer, wildlife program administrator. “The plan provides a solid background on turkey ecology, past research and management challenges and opportunities. Updates to the current plan came from a diverse stakeholder group; including harvest strategies for both spring and fall hunting seasons.”
The draft management plan and information from the stakeholder group meetings can be found online at: http://gfp.sd.gov/hunting/big-game/turkey/wild-turkey-management-plan.aspxgfp.sd.gov/hunting/big-game/turkey/wild-turkey-management-plan.aspx. Written comments on the draft plan can be sent to 523 E. Capitol Ave., Pierre, SD 57501 or emailed to email@example.com. Comments must be received by April 18, 2016, and include your full name and city of residence.
