Pepsi-Cola, Admiral Beverage contribute to ranchers
July 18, 2014
Doug James and Rich Murphy representing Pepsi-Cola Bottling of the Black Hills and Admiral Beverage from Wyoming along with representatives from Lynn's Dakota Mart presented a check in the amount of $34,500 to the Ranchers Relief Fund in early May. The fundraising effort was lead by the grocery stores and the bottling company to support the ranchers impacted by the October 2013 Blizzard. The check was part of a larger effort by the Ranchers Relief Fund which raised over $5.3 million dollars that has already been distributed to the ranchers who suffered losses in the storm. The Ranchers Relief Fund, a joint effort by the South Dakota Stockgrowers Association, South Dakota Cattlemen's Association, South Dakota Sheepgrowers and Black Hills Area Community Foundation, identified over 600 individual ranch families who reported losses of nearly 43,000 head of cattle, sheep and horses.
