Perdue expects word soon whether he’ll be Ag secretary

Former Georgia Gov. Sonny Perdue told a Georgia television station today that he expects word soon on whether President-elect Donald Trump will choose him to be Agriculture secretary.

Perdue, a Republican, met with Trump on Wednesday, but was back at home in Georgia today, WMAZ reported.

Several stories in the Georgia news media noted that Perdue has competition for the job. One story noted that Perdue is a cousin of Sen. David Perdue, R-Ga.
