Ponca Creek Cattle Company Angus 2012 Bull Sale

Dan Piroutek

Leonard and Thelma Schmitz from Nebraska were very happy first time buyers.

Ponca Creek Cattle Company hosted an extra big crowd for their annual bull sale held at the ranch near Bonesteel, SD. A rainy spring day only added to the spirits of this large gathering of cattlemen. This was a very active sale, and proved to be the best ever for Ponca Creek Cattle Company.

The bulls were offered in moderate condition, being on a high-roughage ration with no creep feed.

Ponca Creek had used several very notable artificial insemination (AI) sires to enhance their breeding program. The most notable this spring were sons of Sitz Upward, GDAR Game Day, Connealy Lead On, TC Aberdeen, SydGen CC&7, and Connealy Thunder. These bulls were very well received, as well as leaving an excellent set of replacement heifers for Rex Pfaff and Tom Lillibridge.

You will hear a lot more from this program as this cowherd gets stronger and stronger. For those of you who enjoy comparing scores, their catalog is filled with lots of data on each bull.
