Private Land/Public Wildlife Council Nominations Sought

Governor Steve Bullock and Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks are seeking applicants for appointment to the Private Land/Public Wildlife Council.

The council, appointed by Bullock, will be made up of citizens representing the interests of hunters, anglers, landowners and outfitters.

"Montanans value our outdoor hunting and fishing heritage. This important council plays a critical role in ensuring access to our public spaces for hunters and anglers in the state, while respecting private property rights of landowners," Bullock said. "This council needs Montanans who have demonstrated their commitment to solutions and creative thinking that expands access responsibly for all Montanans."

During the next 18 months, the council will work to develop recommendations for consideration by the Governor, FWP, and the 2017 Legislature. PL/PW Council members are typically appointed to two-year terms, and meet four to six times a year.

Individuals may nominate themselves or someone else. Applications must be accompanied by a resume or an equivalent short written summary of work, education, and public services experience.

Application forms are available online at fwp.mt.gov. Click "Private Land/Public Wildlife Council". Applications will be accepted through July 17.
