Professional baddle bronc match returns to 2012 Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo
January 20, 2012
The Central States Fair has announced that the Pioneer Bank and Trust Professional Saddle Bronc Match will return to this year’s show on Feb. 1, 2012 starting with a cowboy meet-and-greet at 5 p.m.
Thirty of the top saddle bronc riders in the nation will compete for $10,000 in added prize money. Entries include the likes of: Chad Ferley, Jesse Bail, Chuck Schmidt, Toas Muncy, Wade Sundell, Tyler Corrington and Ty Atchison, all competitors at the 2011 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo (WNFR). The lineup of cowboys includes 14 WNFR qualifiers, four World Champions with five titles, two Canadian National Champions, and two Indian National Finals Champions.
The event will feature the rankest broncs from four PRCA stock contractors including: Burch Rodeo, Korkow Rodeos, J Bar J Rodeo and Powder River Rodeo.
Scoring in a bronc match is based on 50 points for the cowboy and 50 points for the bronc. Stock contractors will compete for additional prize money if their 10 broncs have the highest average score for the event. This format will ensure the best-quality bucking stock for the event.
