Ranchers Quarter Horse Breeders Association adds futurity

SPEARFISH, SD – In celebration of their 10th Annual Sale, Ranchers QH Breeders Association announces the addition of a two- and three-year-old futurity held at 9 a.m. on Sunday, Aug. 29, 2010. The Ranch Horse Futurity will feature a ranch horse class, basic reining pattern and conformation class at 9 a.m. prior to the sale on Aug. 29 at the Seven Down Arenas near Spearfish. Eligible mares, geldings and studs will show together. RQHBA guarantees $300 for 1st, $200 for 2nd, and $100 for 3rd place.

Weanlings, yearlings and two-year-olds purchased at the 2008 and 2009 sale are eligible for all futurities based on their age. In 2009, RQHBA awarded $500 to the Champion Yearling Filly. This year, a total of $2,500 is up for grabs in the RQHBA Yearling Futurity held in conjunction with the Central States Fair.

RQHBA will also be holding their 2nd Annual Invitational Saddle Horse Session. Over 15 seasoned saddle horses, invited only by members, will wrap up the 80 head sale.
