July 28, 2014
The PRCA Range Days Rodeo will be the stomping grounds for the region's top cowboys as the Rapid City rodeo announced Tuesday the rodeo has been co-approved with four different PRCA circuits.
The Range Days Rodeo will be recognized within the Badlands, Prairie, Mountain States and Montana Circuits. The All-American Pro-Rodeo Series Rodeo will attract contestants from nine different states all vying to qualify for regional circuit finals, Ram National Circuit Finals and the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.
The Range Days PRCA Rodeo, which takes place August 21-23, will kick off on Thursday night with the Military Appreciation Night and will feature nightly performances on Friday and Saturday.
Produced by the Central States Fair, Inc., the Range Days Rodeo began in 1946 as a rodeo venue to attract top cowboys to showcase their talents to the Black Hills communities. Through the years top contestants have participated in the event, including South Dakota's top rodeo hands such as Casey Tibbs as a contestant, stock contractor, and producer.
