Red Angus group hires Iowa woman for Junior programs
The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) is pleased to announce the hire of Kimberly Anderson Heller, Ph.D., of Clarion, Iowa, as the new Junior Programs Coordinator. Heller will assume the role beginning March 1, 2015.
“Kim brings to the Association an immense knowledge of youth leadership development and the beef industry,” said Twig Marston, Association CEO. “We are thrilled to welcome Kim to the team and watch as she leads our junior programs to a new era within the RAAA.”
Heller’s primary responsibilities will be to develop and enhance youth leadership and education within the RAAA. She will coordinate all junior events, contests and programs within the Association.
Heller has been actively involved in youth development for more than 25 years. She has worked hands on with students within 4-H and FFA at the national level to help develop both leadership and professional skills.
“I have always been impressed with the quality of the juniors and their dedication to the philosophy of the breed,” said Heller. “I look forward to serving as the junior programs coordinator and for the opportunities ahead as we continue to build leaders for the red generation.”
Heller received her bachelor’s in agricultural education from Iowa State University in 1994. She then went on to earn her master’s degree from the University of Georgia in agricultural and extension education, and later, her doctorate at the University of Georgia in adult education.
“I have a strong desire to engage young people in the agricultural industry and to influence their career choices,” said Heller. “I look forward to providing leadership and direction to the Junior Red Angus program.”
