The annual Red Western Red Angus Bull sale was held at Crawford Livestock in Crawford, NE on April 9, 2010. The sale was hosted by brothers Brad and Trixie Grill, B Lazy T Ranch, and Jeff and Diana Grill, Grill Cattle Co., and their families.

Brad and Jeff co-manage a large commercial cow/calf ranch in the southwestern corner of South Dakota. They also raise a great set of registered Red Angus cattle. The kind that will produce moderate, thick calves that will be sought after for the feedlot and the replacement pen. Since the start of getting into the purebred business, they have been focused on easy calving and a mother cow that is moderate framed, easy fleshing and can raise a big calf in the rugged conditions of the southern Black Hills. They use EPDs as a guide, but don’t chase the extreme numbers that they feel will lead to a bigger framed, less efficient cowherd.
