Rural property broker continuing education program set for Oct. 19 in Rapid City
BROOKINGS, SD – The South Dakota Cooperative Extension Service will host a continuing educational program for realtors who market rural properties on Oct. 19.
The program begins at 8:30 a.m. (MT) at the South Dakota State University West River Ag Center, 1905 Plaza Dr., Rapid City, located off of Deadwood Avenue. The program costs $50 for those who register on or before Oct. 17, or $55 at the door. To register, call Carol Lawhun, Real Estate Education by Carol Lawhun, at 605-390-2338, or e-mail her at: caroll@PropertyByReferral.com.
The program offers 4.5 hours of approved continuing education credits through the South Dakota Real Estate Commission (2 required and 2.5 elective), and it will focus on land-use planning, stocking rates for small acreages, the cost of feeding horses, and the weed laws of the region. The seminar will end at approximately 12:30 p.m.
South Dakota Cooperative Extension Range Livestock Extension Associate Mindy Hubert said the event is a great way for realtors or others who market rural properties to get insight on a variety of considerations important to small-acreage ownership.
“We are excited about the content of this program because it is very specific for realtors and others who work in rural property real estate,” Hubert said. “It’s a great way to help rural property brokers make informed recommendations to their clients, ultimately helping new landowners make informed decisions about their property.”
For other questions on the event, call Hubert at the West River Ag Center at 605-394-2236.
