Averages: 55 yearling bulls – $5,227; 22 bred heifers – $3,770

The Benda Ranch hosted their annual sale to a near capacity crowd. The sale was strong from start to finish on a top set of Simmental and Sim-Angus bulls and bred heifers.

Topping the sale was Lot 2, a black blaze face purebred son of RC Club King 040R. He had the number one WW, YW and REA, and sold to Matt Homandberg, Hudson, SD for $18,500.

Lot 14, a three-fourths blood son of WS Independence sold to long time repeat buyer Tom Gorzalka, Clearmont, WY for $9,500.

The Lot 1 bull, a five-eighths son of Ellingson Legacy M229 (Olie) sold to another long time customer Doug Konechne, Kimball SD, for $8,000.

A half-blood heifer, JBS Miss Bushwacker 149X topped the female offering selling at $6,250 to Nathan Goeken, Utica, SD.

707X, a three-fourths blood daughter of WS Independence, was next in line at $5,600 selling to Ben Bogenhagen, White Lake, SD.

Volume bull buyer was, Tom and Jonathan Gorzalka, Clearmont, WY.

Nathan Goeken, Utica, SD and Dan Forgey, Dallas, SD were volume heifer buyers.
