Sandmeier Charolais hosted an average size crowd for their annual bull sale. Like I said, this wasn’t the biggest crowd, but they bid a lot, and bought in volume, with several outfits buying a number of bulls. I thought that from start to finish, this was the best set of bulls they have offered. These bulls have performed exceptionally well this past fall, and they really looked the part on sale day.

There were many repeat buyers on the seats, with just enough new ones to really make this one of the best sales of the spring. This set of bulls was Gene Star tested for marbling, feed efficiency, and tenderness. Many commercial cattle are fed by the Sandmeiers, so they understand what their customers need.

The weather on sale day was cold, and with a lot of snow still in the Bowdle area. This crowd really bid up very willingly and a very fast paced sale took place. This year’s sale was broadcast live over the internet on DV Auction and Livestock R Us. There were several bulls sold over the internet.
