SDSU Beef Bowl is Sept. 13
BROOKINGS, SD – The 42nd Annual Beef Bowl is scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13, at Coughlin Alumni Stadium on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings.
The Jacks will be playing Western Illinois in the football game, which begins at 6 p.m.
Prior to the game, the Department of Animal and Range Sciences from SDSU will host a barbecue from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Barbecue tickets cost $7 and will be available at the barbecue. Proceeds from the barbecue are used support undergraduate scholarships in the Department of Animal and Range Sciences.
“The Beef Bowl was initiated to promote the beef industry and recognize the cattle producers of South Dakota. It is a time for people to spend the afternoon enjoying great food and great football while getting to know the Department of Animal and Range Sciences and the Athletic Department faculty and staff,” SDSU Extension Beef Specialist Cody Wright said. “The Beef Bowl is not just for those in the beef industry; everyone is invited to the barbecue at 3:30 p.m. and to the game at 6 p.m.”
Those attending the barbecue and the football game are encouraged to park in the lots north of the stadium, Wright added.
If you have any questions feel free to contact the Department of Animal and Range Sciences at (605) 688-5165, or the SDSU Athletic Department at 866-GO-JACKS.
