SDSU Lamb Bonanza set for Feb. 27

BROOKINGS, S.D. – South Dakota State University Lamb Bonanza will be held Feb. 27, 2016 at Frost Arena on the campus of South Dakota State University. The event begins at 3:30 p.m.
This will be the twenty-fourth year of the event which showcases SDSU’s support of lamb and wool production in South Dakota. Lamb Bonanza is held in conjunction with the SDSU men’s basketball game. The game begins at 4:30 p.m. with SDSU men playing Oral Roberts.
At 3:30 p.m. the South Dakota Sheep Growers’ Association will serve leg of lamb sandwiches and lamb spread, on the north side of the track in Frost Arena.
Pelt auction
During halftime, six lamb pelts will be auctioned. Four pelts are decorated with the letters, “SDSU” and two pelts feature the Jackrabbit emblem.
Proceeds from pelt sales will provide scholarships to undergraduates in the SDSU Department of Animal Science and the SDSU Athletic Department.
The 2016 Lamb Bonanza is sponsored by SDSU departments of Animal Science and Athletics as well as the South Dakota Sheep Growers’ Association.
