Sen. Johnson calls for action on propane shortage
Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Tim Johnson (D-SD) today joined a bipartisan group of 29 Senators in sending a letter to President Obama that calls for federal assistance to increase propane supply in areas that have been affected by propane shortages and significantly higher costs.
“For many, especially in rural communities and on Indian reservations, the inability to access affordable supplies of propane is presenting a very real health and safety concern,” Johnson said. “Industry has already begun to respond to the supply shortages, and a number of state and federal agencies have taken steps to help alleviate the situation. It’s important that these efforts continue and that we explore additional opportunities to address what has become a very serious situation.” F
