Simmental Show & Sale
Grant Raml, Goodwin S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Simmental Show Jan. 27 in Sioux Falls, S.D.
Raml chose lot 46, LECC Combustion, a consignment from Lance Ellsworth, Elkhorn, Wis., as champion bull. He was sired by FBFI Combustible and out of LECC Cleopatra 1R. He was the highest selling bull for $6,750 to Ford Farms, Bruce, S.D.
Reserve champion bull went to lot 42, RTZ C8, a consignment from Raatz Farms, Jasper, Minn. He was sired by GLS New Direction X184 and out of RTZ A53. He sold to Clay Duxbury, St. Lawrence, S.D., for $4,750.
The second highest selling bull was lot 26, a consignment from JT Weber Family Cattle Co., Lake Benton, Minn. He sold to Rees Wagner, Redfield, S.D., for $5,750.
Raml chose lot 15, Buss Miss Chassity, a consignment from B2U Stock, Lennox, S.D., as champion female. She was sired by W/C Wide Track 694Y and out of HS Elegant Star Z426H. She was the highest selling female and sold to Harlan Rasmussen, Sanborn, Minn., for $4,750.
Raml chose lot 5, TSN Lucy 5C, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by TSN Lucky Simmental, Montivideo, Minn. She was sired by TSNL Prince 7Z. She sold to Mike Bevin, Milan, Minn., for $2,000.
The second highest selling female was a consignment from B2U Stock and sold for $3,500 to Kevin Blagg, Salem, S.D.
Chisum Peterson, Pukwana, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Simmental Sale. He auctioned 19 bulls and 16 females. Nineteen bulls averaged $3,907.89, and the 16 females averaged $2,256.25.
