Sioux Empire Farm Show Angus Show and Sale

Neal Pearson, Lake City, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Angus Show Jan. 22 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Bulls

Pearson chose lot 27, Plum Creek Lutton 3H421C, a consignment from Plum Creek Angus, Algona, Iowa, as champion bull. He was sired by EXAR Lutton 1831 and out of LaGrand Peg H421. He was the second high selling bull, stopping the bidding at $8,000 and selling to Dennis Smith, Estherville, Iowa.



Reserve champion bull went to lot 60, Dandy Acres Chinook 41, a consignment from Dandy Acres, Pipestone, Minn. He was sired by S Chinook 0133 and out of Dandy Acres Blackbird 830. He sold for $5,750 to Stan Williamson, Garretson, S.D.

The highest selling bull was lot 38, a consignment from God’s Country Angus, Hinton, Iowa. He sold to Eric Stricherz, La Bolt, S.D., for $9,000.



Females

Pearson chose lot 5, SF Erica Eileen 311, a consignment from Scholtz Farm Angus, Comfrey, Minn., as champion female. She was sired by SAV Prosperity 9131 and out of Moffitt Erica Eileen M906. She was the highest selling female selling for $4,000 to Charles Buus, Lennox, S.D.

Pearson chose lot 9, CAF Jewel 3125, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Carter Angus Farm, Vermillion, S.D. She was sired by Derner Aberseen 42 105 and out of Derner Fortune Spade 33 905. She was the second highest selling female and sold for $2,900 to Charles Buus.

Al Conover, Baxter, Iowa, served as auctioneer for the Angus Sale. He auctioned 35 bulls and 11 females. Thirty-five bulls averaged $3,738.57, and the 11 females averaged $2,286.36.
