Sioux Empire Farm Show Charolais Show and Sale

Jim Krantz, Howard, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Charolais Show Jan. 23 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Krantz chose lot 9, MC Rock Solid 113, a consignment from McGunegill Charolais, Jasper, Minn., as champion bull. He was sired by SVY Avalanche PLD 140Y and out of LM Jasmine 01. He was the highest selling bull and sold for $5,500 to Levi VanderLaan, Beresford, S.D.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 16, White Rose Piston, a consignment from White Rose Charolais, Clearwater, Minn. He was sired by CML Diablo 2X and out of White Rose Brooke 909. He sold for $3,750 to Bill Grocott, Humboldt, S.D.

The second highest selling bulls were lots 22 and 23, consignments from Dybdal Charolais, Newcastle, Neb. He sold to Rod Brown, Ponca, Neb., for $5,000.

Krantz chose lot 3, NGC Bailey 304A, a consignment from Brandon Fischer, Grove City, Minn., as champion female. She was sired by Keys All State 149X and out of NGC Martina 002X. She was the highest selling female selling for $6,400 to Jaden Kellogg, St. Lawrence, S.D.

Krantz chose lot 1, BCR MS Distance 328 PLD, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Mitch Benes, Valparaiso, Neb. She was sired by LT Distance 050 and out of BCR MS Track Rep 003. She sold for $1,450 to Dylan Knoll, Platte, S.D.

The second highest selling female was lot 2, a consignment from White Rose Charolais. She sold to Brandon Simon, Farley, Iowa, for $3,000.

Seth Weishaar, Belle Fourche, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Charolais Sale. He auctioned 15 bulls and three females. Fifteen bulls averaged $3,330, and the three females averaged $3,616.67. F
