Sioux Empire Farm Show Collegiate Judging Contest

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. – Two hundred eighteen 4-H and FFA members from 50 junior college and senior college teams from across the country competed in the Sioux Empire Farm Show Collegiate Judging Contest Jan. 27 in Sioux Falls.

Kansas State University White was first team overall in the senior college division with 4,172 points. Kansas State University Purple was second overall with 4,169.

Third through fifth place teams in the senior college division were Western Illinois #1, University of Wyoming #1 and Iowa State University Gold.

The high individual in the senior division was Dean Klahr, Kansas State White. Cody Hadden from University of Illinois was second overall.

Third through fifth place individuals were Luke Wechter, Western Illinois #1; Payton Dahmer, Kansas State Purple; and Nicholas Pitlick, University of Minnesota.

In the junior college division, Hutchinson Community College #3 was first with 4,131 points. Butler Community College #2 was second with 4,130 points.

Third through fifth place teams in the junior college division were Butler Community College #1, Illinois Central College #1 and Butler Community College #4.

Cooper Carlisle, Butler Community College #2, was the high individual in the junior college contest. Lexi Kaiser, Butler Community College #2, was second overall.

Third through fifth place individuals in the junior college division were Hadley Schotte, Hutchinson Community College #3; Skyler Scotten, Butler Community College #3; and Connor Vernon, Butler Community College #4.
