Neal Pearson, Lake City, S.D., judged the Sioux Empire Farm Show Hereford Show Jan. 23 in Sioux Falls, S.D.

Pearson chose lot 32, SH Zeus Z228E, a consignment from Schmidt Herefords, Pipestone, Minn., as champion bull. He was sired by SHF Porterhouse M33 P52 and out of HPH Miss Ext 493C 220. He was the highest selling bull and sold for $6,500 to Steve Arnesen, Florence, S.D.

Reserve champion bull went to lot 12, HH AH Loaded Time D57, a consignment from Huwaldts Herefords, Randolph, Neb. He was sired by AH Right Time A18 and out of EH MS Reload A70. He sold for $5,250 to Nordues Farms, McLean, Neb.

The second highest selling bull was lot 27, a consignment from Circle S Ranch, Stewartville, Minn. He sold to Tom Cauwels, Brandon, S.D., for $5,250.

Pearson chose lot 2, Sleepy Winnie 37T ET, a consignment from Sleepy Hollow Farm, Centerville, S.D., as champion female. She was sired by Golden Oak Outcross 18U and out of FHF 4029 Whitney 36X. She was the second highest selling female selling for $6,100 to Ollerich Brothers, Clearfield, S.D.

Pearson chose lot 6, LCX-S&A Keepsake 120S, as reserve champion female. She was consigned by Larry Crane, Mitchell, S.D. She was sired by Star TCF Shock & Awe 158W ET and out of MSV Keepsake 14S. She was the highest selling female and sold for $6,500 to Phillip Kahoun, Rushford, Minn.

Chisum Peterson, Pukwana, S.D., served as auctioneer for the Hereford Sale. He auctioned 20 bulls and nine females. Twenty bulls averaged $3,950, and the nine females averaged $3,655.56. F
