Sitz Angus 44th Annual Fall Production Sale

Sitz Angus hosted their 44th Annual Fall production sale at the Harrison MT ranch on Dec. 3, 2009. The Sitz family have been raising and breeding quality Angus cattle for 86 years and have developed one of the most recognized herds in the Angus industry. The Sitz genetics are widely sought after from both seedstock breeders and commercial cattlemen alike as was very evident with the standing room only crowd on sale day.

The sale offering had a distinct pattern of long bodied, deep ribbed, thick sound bulls. There was a large offering of half and three quarter brothers in the sale, giving the buyers the opportunity to select bulls that will give them a very uniform calf crop. Nearly 100 of the sale bulls had been through the Igenity Program to identify feed efficeincy, longevity and marbling traits thru the use of DNA tichnology.

The Sitz Angus program has always placed a great emphasis on the mother cows. The females in the sale carried the same distinct pattern as the bulls with lots of length, depth and eye appeal. They sold in groups sorted by ultra sound calving dates and were in very high demand.
