South Dakota Beef Industry Council meeting Dec. 16 in Fort Pierre
The South Dakota Beef Industry Council (SDBIC) Board of Directors will hold its next board meeting at the AmericInn located in Fort Pierre, SD on Thursday, Dec. 16 beginning at 10:30 a.m. CST. The SDBIC administers the $1-per-head Beef Checkoff on all beef cattle sales in the state.
The agenda for the December meeting includes an update on Beef Checkoff financials and a report from SDBIC Merrill Karlen on the search for a new executive director. SDBIC Director of Nutrition Holly Swee will highlight current promotion and educational projects.
SDBIC directors will review a report from the independent audit of state Beef Checkoff procedures and financial activities.
Committee reports will be given on local promotion and research projects. U.S. Meat Export Federation directors will also speak on current activities with international marketing.
