South Dakota Grasslands bird watching tour at Headley Ranch June 17-18 near White Lake
Central South Dakota’s mixed-grass prairies, farmland, isolated woodlands and wetlands provides an excellent habitat for numerous bird species – including waterfowl, songbirds and grassland birds.
The South Dakota Grassland Coalition invites participants to join in viewing the abundant populations of birds that make their home on the Headley Ranch, located near White Lake, SD.
The two-day tour, June 17-18, will find participants watching and recording bird species, hearing presentations from land owners and conservation experts, and learning first-hand how management practices benefit both livestock and South Dakota’s native feathered friends.
