South Dakota Grasslands Coalition annual meeting Dec. 15 in Chamberlain
South Dakota Grasslands Coalition 2010 annual meeting, “Passing the Profitable Ranch to the Next Generation-You’re never too young to start” will be held Dec. 15, 2010 at the AmericInn Chamberlain, SD.
This year’s guest speakers are Sherry Vinton, Whitman, NE and Jim McCarthy, Des Moines, IA.
Sherry Vinton and her husband, Chris, represent the fifth generation on a family ranch in the Sandhills of Nebraska. After studying accounting at the University of Nebraska Lincoln, Sherry and Chris returned to his family’s ranch. Currently, she serves as treasurer and a mentor for the Nebraska Grazing Lands Coalition. She also is an appointed member for the Nebraska Environmental Trust.
Jim McCarthy is vice president of estate and business development for Farm Bureau Financial Services. Jim’s areas of expertise include estate tax, business succession planning and charitable gifting strategies for a family owned business, farm, or ranch.
