South Dakota Public Lands Council Meeting to be held Jan. 25
The South Dakota Public Lands Council will hold their annual meeting on Jan. 25, 2008 in the Red Room at the Stockman’s Club at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center at 12:30 p.m.
Speakers will include Mark Tubbs who will give an update on happenings with the National Public Lands Council, Mark Haugen from Senator Thune’s office, and Chuck Berdan from the BLM who will speak about the ongoing new Resource Management Plan and the Sage Grouse study.
Bill Even, the new Secretary of Agriculture, has been contacted to inform on what is happening at the state level, and the Black Hills Multiple Use Coalition will report as well.
Other items on the agenda are ongoing lawsuits the National Public Lands Council has on grazing regulations, prairie dog management, and state lands issues.
Lunch will be available before the meeting at the Stockman’s Club from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. for a cost of $15. Please RSVP for lunch by Wednesday, Jan. 23rd.
