Spickler Ranch 2009 Bull Sale

Aaron Nelson

The bulls were all sorted into small groups for easy evaluation.

The Spickler Ranch, owned by Justin and Sara Spickler and Nathan and Emily Spickler families, held their annual bull sale at the ranch near Glenfield, ND on May 4. The Spicklers went through quite an ordeal this spring with flooding, as did many cattlemen and farmers in North Dakota. Located in the James River Valley, the entire ranch headquarters and sale facility were surrounded by water just a few weeks prior to the sale. (View photos on their website at http://www.spicklerranch.com.)

With the help of many family, friends and neighbors, the Spickler bulls were evacuated to higher ground. The waters receded, however, and the sale was able to go on as planned.
