St. Patty’s bucking horse futurity set
for Bronc Riding Nation
DUBLIN, Texas ~ On March 15, the newly formed United Bucking Horse Association (UBHA) will produce their second official futurity at Dublin City Park Arena starting at 12 noon.
Bucking horse futurities give owners and breeders the opportunity to compete with their young horses while safely developing their skills in a controlled environment under an ultra-lightweight, remote controlled device that falls away when triggered.
Two UBHA sanctioned classes are offered; a two year old and a three year old class. The UBHA will add $1,500 to each class in addition to $200 from each $230 entry fee per horse. Each class will pay one place for every 5 entries up to 25 head (or 5 places). Total entries are not limited. Number of entries from any owner is not limited. UBHA membership is required for entry.
Each horse will work from bucking chutes for 6 seconds each and be judged from 0-25 points by 4 officials. The high and low scores of the four will be disregarded using only the two mid-range scores.
Each entry will be age verified by dental inspection prior to competing and must have current, negative Coggins and veterinary health certificate upon entering the grounds.
Separate classes for 4 and 5 year old bucking horses under riders are offered, but not sanctioned by the UBHA.
The UBHA Mission is to:
• Promote individual ownership of bucking horses
• Offer ownership opportunities in bucking horse similar to horse racing
• Increase the value of bucking horses by creating lucrative, competitive opportunities
• Carefully structure competitions to preserve the bucking horse’s career longevity F
