TJS Red Angus held their 3rd Annual Bull Sale. TJS Red Angus is a family run operation from Lodge Grass, MT. Tim, Julie and Cash Shick, Jim and Carlene Shick, and Steve and Tammie Haug and boys, Tanner, Taylor and Laramie, all come together to form TJS Red Angus. TJS Red Angus also included another family, Lee Ranches from Hanson, ID, that had bulls in the sale this year. They are long-time friends of the Shick family and Tim made a reference that their bulls as well as their sires are very complimentary to TJS’s program. They have the same philosophy – that if a cow can’t raise a calf on mother’s milk, then she doesn’t stay in the program.

For the Shick and Haug families, only a small portion of the bulls actually make the sale, resulting in a very elite offering. They rely on repeat customers and believe these satisfied customers tell their neighbors, which has been successful for TJS because they continue to get new customers and they like what they see. Bulls are moderate, thick with great carcass traits as well as great maternal strength. The one big thing you hear from repeat customers is that these bulls just keep growing and have great dispositions.
