What is your future in the sport of rodeo? Where would you like to see it go? I hope to College Rodeo for SDSU while furthering my education.

What is your ultimate goal as you continue competing in rodeos? I would like to win State and go on and win Nationals with my Team Roping partner Caleb Schroth.

Favorite aspect of rodeo:The people I have met and the friends I have made along the way, and the competition that drives me to work harder to reach my goals.

Best rodeo memory:Second run of state last year, when we won the round, won the average and earned are spot on the National Team.

Notable achievements in the sport: Making it to Nationals.

Tell us about your horse(s):My heel horse’s name is Dude and he is 18 years old. One thing that is unusual about him is that he is blind in his left eye. That is a tough eye for him to be blind in, because that is the side the steer is on, but even with that he still works like he can see out of it.

Role models/mentors: My dad Troy, my brother Dalton and Shaun Ruland.

What do you like to do when you’re not competing? Hunt, football, golf – just about anything outdoors.

What’s on playing on your iPod/radio?Anything and everything!
