TSLN named nation’s top livestock paper

The Livestock Publications Council recently announced their 2014 contest winners and Tri-State Livestock News won the newspaper category.

Judge’s comments:

“Impressive from front page to back page in terms of size of publication, amount of editorial content, overall design and readability. Content included technical information, down home stories and everything in between. Very well done and each provided a snapshot of agriculture and the people who make their living from agriculture in their area.”



TSLN also won the Event/Show Program category for the Black Hills Stock Show and Rodeo Premier Edition and the Special Issue (100 pages or less) category for the 2013 Horse Roundup.

Second place honors were awarded to TSLN for the website, http://www.tsln.com and for a news story, “Beef Plant Plight,” by Carrie Stadheim and “Beef cattle muscling and marbling development” by Steve Paisley was chosen as an honorable mention in the technical article category.
