U.S. Cattlemen’s Association fall meeting tour stops in Montana, North and South Dakota

The U.S. Cattlemen’s Association (USCA) will be holding several producer information meetings in the upcoming weeks. USCA Executive Vice President Jess Peterson and Silveus Crop and Range Insurance representative Tait Berlier are teaming up to give cattle producers a perfect combination.

“Within just a few short years, USCA has achieved solid credibility in the livestock industry as it steps to the plate to play a pivotal role on the issues affecting the U.S. cattle industry. Promoting a stronger and enhanced beef checkoff, competition reform, and common sense methods to animal traceability as well as continually advocating for the prevention of foreign animal disease introduction are all among USCA’s top priorities,” stated Peterson.

“As a time-tested and producer-supported insurance group that has been providing risk management solutions for nearly 70 years, Silveus stands by USCA. Tait Berlier and I have been reaching out to producers across the country, getting them engaged in USCA and signed up for Silveus,” Peterson said. Don’t miss one of these meetings:

• Tuesday, Sept. 28, Miles City Livestock Commission, Miles City, MT. Silveus will sponsor a luncheon at high noon MDT.

• Thursday, Sept. 30, Selfridge, ND, Branding Iron Cafe, 6:30 p.m. CDT. Dinner provided. Call Pat Becker at 701-422-3396 to RSVP.

• Friday, Oct. 8, St. Onge Livestock, St. Onge, SD, a rollover calf sale will take place at high noon MDT.

Each of these meetings will involve an update from Peterson on the proposed GIPSA rule, also known as the rancher-farmer Bill of Rights, the beef checkoff, animal disease traceability, and country of origin labeling.

USCA and Silveus Crop & Range Insurance encourage all producers to take advantage of a great opportunity to get involved in the issues affecting the U.S. cattle industry and to utilize available risk management tools.
