Voting begins for 2010 Professional Rodeo Cowboy Association awards

COLORADO SPRINGS, CO – California Rodeo Salinas and the Pendleton (OR) Round-Up, both of which are celebrating their 100th anniversaries this year, will be going head to head with 11-time winner Cheyenne (WY) Frontier Days in one of the most intriguing categories on the 2010 PRCA awards ballot released today.

All three have been nominated for the PRCA Large Outdoor Rodeo Committee of the Year, along with the Reno (NV) Rodeo, which won this award in 1997, and the Rodeo of the Ozarks in Springdale, AR.

The San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo, RodeoHouston, the National Western Stock Show & Rodeo in Denver, Southwestern Exposition & Livestock Show in Fort Worth and the Dixie National Rodeo in Jackson, MS, are the nominees in the Large Indoor Rodeo Committee of the Year.



Houston has won the award nine times, Denver three times and San Antonio the last five.

Final ballots will go out this week. The category winners will be announced at the Annual PRCA Awards Banquet on Dec. 1 in Las Vegas.
