VS update: 297 Colorado quarantines since outbreak
BROOMFIELD, Colo. –As of Sept. 17, 2014, the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s State Veterinarian’s Office has 168 locations under quarantine after horses and cows tested positive for Vesicular Stomatitis (VS); 129 of the 297 quarantines have now been released.
“While we continue to see new cases, the good news is that the number of new cases are decreasing while the number of released quarantines are increasing; we believe that’s a sign that we’ve hit the peak of this disease in Colorado for this year,” said State Veterinarian, Dr. Keith Roehr.
