Western Heritage Days coming to Sturgis

Western Heritage Days has come to town! Sturgis is turning back the pages of history to look at our western culture and the traditions that built our community.Three events make for one big weekend in Sturgis.

The fun starts with PRCA Wild Card Rodeo 6:00 pm on Friday & Saturday, and 1:00 pm on Sunday. From the days of the cavalry to the famous Ft. Meade Horse Show to High School and Ranch Rodeos, Sturgis has a long relationship with the sport. Tom Reeves, World Champion Cowboy and member of the Cowboy Hall of Fame, brings exciting PRCA Rodeo action to the Sturgis Fair Grounds this weekend.

Check out the 41st Annual Black Hills Steam & Gas Show! Antique tractors, shingle making, tractor pulls, dances, and parades make for a great weekend for everyone. The fun takes place at the Western Dakota Antique Club grounds, on Alkali Road, off State Highway 34, just past the Sturgis Airport. Gates open at 7:00 Friday – Sunday.

The Key City welcomes and is host to the Black Hills Tractor Drive. Tractors will drive through Vanocker Canyon and Ft. Meade as part of their itinerary, with tractor parades leaving Hersrud’s of Sturgis at 7:30 am on Saturday and 9:00 am on Sunday.
