Whitestone Krebs Ranch held their 30th Anniversary production sale at the ranch on March 21, 2010. The sale was rescheduled from the usual date due to a fast moving winter storm that dropped several inches of heavy, wet snow and wreaked havoc on the local roads.

Throughout the past 30 years Eldon and Louisa Krebs and family along with partner George Lemm have developed one of the top seed stock programs in the Angus breed. The bulls and females from this ranch have proven themselves not only in the show ring, but in the breeding pasture, where the commercial cattlemen are the true judge.

The overall sale offering was very uniform and consistent from top to bottom with several of the top bulls selling in the middle of the day. Highlighting this year’s bulls offering was the Grand Champion Carload of Angus bulls from the 2010 National Western Stock Show in Denver. The sale heifers were broody and feminine and should develop into top producing cows.

Winding out the sale was a nice set of geldings. These horses had been used in the everyday tasks of ranch work, from the calving pen to the feedlot. Some had been started in the arena and show lots of potential as roping prospects.

High selling bull was Lot A, WK George, a 4/15/09 bull sired by WK Vegas and out of the powerful donor cow Belmont Lady 9015 3313, the dam of the $300,000 WK Hammer. This bull has EPDs of BW 3.9, WW 61, Milk 22, YW 103 and sold for $50,000 (half semen interest) to the following breeders: Doug Booth Family Angus, Torrington, WY; Lineneman Cattle Co., Princeton, NE; Whispering Pines Angus, Winne, AR; Edgar Brothers, Rockham, SD; Spring Garden Ranch, Bluegrass, VA; D&S Cattle Co., Inola, OK; Rocking S Stigler, OK; Bear Mountain Angus, Palisade, NE; One Double Bar Cattle Co., Gordon, NE; Sagebrush Cattle Co., Elgin, UT; and Schleske Angus, Virgil, SD.

The next top bull was Lot 9, WK Right Answer 9208, a 2/1/09 bull by Connealy Right Answer 746. This powerful heifer bull prospect has EPDs of BW .6, WW 61, Milk 29, YW 116 and sold to Bobcat Angus of Galata, MT; Mytty Angus of Florence, MT; and Joseph Angus of Winner, SD for $28,000.
