An extra big crowd gathered at Faith Livestock for the Wilken Angus sale, hosted by Gary and Lori. The Wilkens have built their program around calving ease bulls that will make extremely good, problem-free females. They have a very strong customer base that believes in them and their cattle.

You could see that many of their customers have waited very loyally for this sale. This very fast-paced and aggressive sale stayed strong to the end, when every bull had found a new home.

Top selling bull of the day was Lot 118, selling for $7,000 to Lindskov-Thiel from Isabel, SD. This was a registered Angus bull that was sired by Mytty In Focus and out of a daughter of GAR Predestined. He had EPDs of +11 CED, +0.7 BW, +48 WW, +91 YW, +23 MILK and +9 CEM. He hit the ground at 78 pounds, then grew to a weaning weight of 693 pounds to ratio 107.

Dean LaDue from Meadow, SD bought several top bulls, including Lot 110 at $5,750. This son of Mytty In Focus was out of a 6I6 daughter and had an 82 pound birth weight. He weaned at 643 pounds to ratio 105. Dean also purchased Lot 80 at $5,500. Sired by BCC Bushwacker 41-93, and out of a 6I6 daughter, he had a 92 pound birth weight. This bull weaned at 720 pounds to ratio 114. Lot 18 also ended up in his pen at $5,750. This son of 1I2 had an 86 pound birth weight, and weaned at 761 pounds to ratio 120.
