Wyoming’s Bette Lu Lerwick named national ‘Farm Mom of the Year’
Bette Lu Lerwick of Albin, WY, has been selected Monsanto’s America’s Farmers Mom of the Year. She is one of five regional winners selected by American Agri-Women and Monsanto based on an essay submitted on her behalf by her daughter, Kosha Olsen. Online voting then determined Lerwick the national winner and Farm Mom of the Year.
Lerwick is honor for her contributions to her family, farm and community, as well as the leadership roles she has taken to promote agriculture and to educate consumers on the path their food and fiber takes from field to home. Monsanto will award her $5,000 in prize money for being “Farm Mom of the Year – Northwest Region” and another $2,500 for being the national Farm Mom of the Year.
On Friday, June 3, Monsanto representative Dan Marostica awarded Lerwick her check at a presentation ceremony at the Wyoming Stock Growers Association’s Wyoming Cattle Industry Convention and Trade Show annual awards luncheon.
